Working Principle of Portable Total Cadmium Analyzer TP2122
The water sample reacts with an acidic oxidizing agent to uniformly oxidize all forms of cadmium in the water sample into divalent cadmium. The pH of the solution is then adjusted to a strongly alkaline state, and a characteristic color reagent is added to initiate an extraction and color development reaction. Within the measurement range, the degree of color change in the aqueous solution is directly proportional to the cadmium concentration in the water sample.
The instrument uses the principle of photometric colorimetry for measurement, based on the Lambert-Beer law: when a beam of monochromatic parallel light passes through a colored solution, part of the light energy is absorbed by the solution. If the thickness of the liquid layer remains constant, the extent of light energy absorption is directly proportional to the concentration of colored substances in the solution
